Governor Beebe today issued a proclamation setting Tuesday, January 12, 2010, as the special election date to fill the District 4 senate seat vacated by the resignation of former State Senator Sharon Trusty. Trusty resigned from the Arkansas Senate effective September 1.

The special primary election for the Democratic and Republican parties will be held on Tuesday, October 13. If needed, a special primary runoff will occur on Tuesday, November 10.
