Governor Beebe Announces 13 Appointments To Boards And Commissions

LITTLE ROCK - Governor Mike Beebe today announced the following appointments to boards and commissions:

Gerald Carr, Bryant, to the Board of the Division of State Services for the Blind. Appointment expires June 30, 2013. Replaces James Johnson.

Todd Edwards, Leachville, to the Arkansas Northeastern College Board of Trustees. Appointment expires December 31, 2014. Replaces Ronnie Kennett.

Norma Gordon, Pine Bluff, reappointed to the Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Advisory Committee. Appointment expires September 30, 2013.

Richard Marendt, Jr., Little Rock, to the Distance Learning Coordinating Council. Appointment expires September 1, 2011. Replaces Rodney Curry.

Hershel Owens, West Memphis, to the Mid-South Community College Board of Trustees. Appointment expires July 1, 2011. Replaces Velma Griffin.

Representative Johnnie Roebuck, Arkadelphia, to the Southern Regional Education Board. Appointment expires June 30, 2013. Replaces Ken James.

Steven Sanders, Jr., Mountain Home, to the Distance Learning Coordinating Council. Appointment expires September 1, 2011. Replaces Robert Mouser.

Dr. Laura Sisterhen, Little Rock, to the Arkansas Tobacco Control Board. Appointment expires July 1, 2014. Replaces Kevin Dedner.

Curtis Walker, Blytheville, to the Arkansas Northeastern College Board of Trustees. Appointment expires December 31, 2012. Replaces Jesse Fleming.

To the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission:

Dr. Jamie Brandon, Magnolia.
Ernest Cunningham, Helena-West Helena.
Thomas Dupree, Jacksonville.
Archie Moore, Little Rock.
These reappointments expire October 1, 2013.
