Governor Beebe Announces Intent to Grant Pardons

LITTLE ROCK - Governor Mike Beebe today announced his intent to grant six pardons. An additional 21 clemency requests were denied and 10 had no action taken upon them. These include requests from both inmates and non-inmates.

The six applicants intended for pardons have completed all jail time, fulfilled all parole-and-probationary requirements and paid all fines related to their sentences. There is a 30-day waiting period to receive public feedback on the commutation and pardons before final action is taken.

Governor Beebe intends to grant pardons to the following people:

Willie D. Easley (Gentry): Attempted Manufacture of Methamphetamine
This notice is issued based on the date of conviction (2001 - Benton County), the fact that all terms of the applicant’s sentence have been completed and there have been no further criminal-law violations. There are no law-enforcement objections to the application.

Robert D. Ellis (Waldo): Violation of Controlled Substances Act, Theft by Receiving
This notice is issued based on the date of conviction (1994 - Columbia County), the fact that all terms of the applicant’s sentence have been completed and there have been no further criminal-law violations. There are no law-enforcement objections to the application.

Charles D. Kildow (Ravenden Springs): Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
This notice is issued based on the date of conviction (1997 - Baxter County), the fact that all terms of the applicant’s sentence have been completed and there have been no further criminal-law violations. The Prosecuting Attorney has objections to the application.

Lee C. Nayles (Little Rock): Theft of Property
This notice is issued based on the date of conviction (1998 - Pulaski County), the fact that all terms of the applicant’s sentence have been completed and there have been no further criminal-law violations. There are no law-enforcement objections to the application.
