Gov. Hutchinson Appoints Chris Palmer as Employer Representative to Workers’ Compensation Commission
LITTLE ROCK – Governor Hutchinson today appointed Chris Palmer of Little Rock as Employer Representative to the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission (AWCC). AWCC Commissioners are appointed to serve for a 6-year term. Palmer replaces outgoing Commissioner, Karen McKinney.
Governor Hutchinson released the following statement:
“I am pleased to announce Chris as the newest addition to the Workers’ Compensation Commission. Chris brings a wealth of experience to an already stellar group of commissioners, and his knowledge of Arkansas law will benefit the state and our people.
“I want to thank Karen McKinney, who’s done an outstanding job in her role on the commission. She’s served our state and this commission with honor and distinction, and I wish her the very best.”
Chris Palmer is currently a Partner at Dodds, Kidd and Ryan law firm in Little Rock. In his 30 years of practice, Palmer has represented a number of significant employers and employees in workers’ compensation cases. He has also overseen numerous cases from the perspective of prosecution, defense and as a circuit judge.
Palmer has extensive experience before the state and federal bar. Chris is a certified mediator, a member of the Pulaski County Bar Association; Arkansas Bar Association; American Bar Association; Tennessee Bar Association; Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; Association of Trial Lawyers of America; and the William Overton and Henry Woods Inns of Court. He received his education from Hendrix College (B.A., 1981) and from the University of Arkansas School of Law (J.D., 1985).
