Governor Asa Hutchinson Announces Intent to Grant Executive Clemency

LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson today announced his intent to grant five pardons and no commutations. An additional 22 clemency requests were denied and eight had no action taken upon them. These include requests from both inmates and non-inmates.

The applicants intended for pardons have completed all jail time, fulfilled all parole and probationary requirements and paid all fines related to their sentences. There is a 30-day waiting period to receive public feedback on the notices before final action is taken.

Governor Hutchinson intends to grant pardons to the following people:

Trish M. Gunn (Paragould): Arkansas Hot Check Law, two counts (Misdemeanor), Shoplifting (A Misdemeanor) and Criminal Trespass – Vehicle or Structure (Misdemeanor).

This notice is issued based on the dates of conviction (1996, 1997 and 2001 – Greene County), the fact that all terms of the applicant’s sentence have been completed and there have been no further criminal-law violations. The prosecuting attorney has raised objections to this application.

Kevin D. Holliday (Hope): Manslaughter (C Felony).

This notice is issued based on the date of conviction (1995 – Howard County), the fact that all terms of the applicant’s sentence have been completed and there have been no further criminal-law violations. There are no law enforcement objections to the application.

Tyler D. Jones (North Little Rock): Theft of Property (C Felony).

This notice is issued based on the date of conviction (2007 – Pulaski County), the fact that all terms of the applicant’s sentence have been completed and there have been no further criminal-law violations. There are no law enforcement objections to the application.

LaTerrance Sears (Jacksonville): Theft of Property (C Felony).

This notice is issued based on the date of conviction (2001 – Columbia County), the fact that all terms of the applicant’s sentence have been completed and there have been no further criminal-law violations. There are no law enforcement objections to the application.

Jason I. Stuart (Fort Smith): Filing a False Police Report (D Felony) and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident (D Felony).

This notice is issued based on the date of conviction (2002 – Sebastian County), the fact that all terms of the applicant’s sentence have been completed and there have been no further criminal-law violations. There are no law enforcement objections to the application.
