We understand that the scholarship application process can be confusing at times. Arkansas Special Nutrition Program
The Special Nutrition Programs (SNP) provide reimbursement for well-balanced, nutritious meals served to individuals enrolled in the Child Care Food Program (CACFP), National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Special Milk Program (SMP), and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). In Arkansas these programs are administered by the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education, Special Nutrition Programs.
No Kid Hungry
More than one in four (27.8 percent) of children in Arkansas face a constant struggle against hunger.
Hungry children have trouble concentrating, get more headaches and infections, are more likely to be hospitalized and are less likely to perform well on athletic fields and in classrooms. It's simply much harder for children at risk of hunger to thrive.
On May 28, 2009 an Executive Order to encourage the reduction of energy consumption by state agencies and the environmental impact of state agency operations. The Executive Order requires all executive branch agencies under the jurisdiction of the Governor to develop and submit individual Strategic Energy Plans (SEPs) with the following goals:
- Reducing each agency’s annual agency maintenance and operating budget devoted to energy consumption, and
- Promoting agency operations and practices that will reduce, to the extent practicable, the environmental impact of the agency’s overall operation
Green.Arkansas.Gov was created to serve as a central information repository for state agencies as well as the general public, providing information on 'Go Green' initiatives and energy saving ideas at the state and national level.
