Governor Asa Hutchinson Appoints Col. Nate Todd Director of ADVA
LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson today announced the appointment of retired U.S. Army Colonel Nathaniel Todd to serve as the Director of the Arkansas Department of Veteran Affairs. Todd will replace former Director Matt Snead, who submitted his resignation effective March 10.
Governor Hutchinson released the following statement:
“I am pleased to announce the selection of Colonel Nate Todd as Director of the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs. Colonel Todd is a friend and a trusted public servant. I am confident that his distinguished military service, executive experience and healthcare expertise make him the perfect selection to lead the department forward.
“Arkansas Veterans deserve the highest quality service in return for their sacrifice and I have no doubt that Colonel Todd will work tirelessly to ensure that our veterans receive the service they deserve.”
Colonel Nate Todd released the following statement:
“I am thankful to God for the privilege of serving in Governor Hutchinson's Administration. It is truly an honor to be trusted with the incredible responsibility of serving as the Director of the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs. I look forward to getting to work serving Arkansas' 250,000 veterans and their families.”
After participating in Junior ROTC at Pine Bluff High School, Colonel Todd went on to serve in the U.S. Army for thirty-seven years, including thirty-three years on active duty and another four years in the Army Reserves.
Todd is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the Central Arkansas Veterans Health Care System. He previously served as the Director of Health Financial Policy for the U.S Army Surgeon General and as Chief Financial Officer for Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Todd earned his Masters degree in Healthcare Administration from Baylor University and his Chief Financial Officer Leadership Certification from the National Defense University. Colonel Todd is also a fellow of both National Security Management and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Todd is a recipient of numerous awards and decorations, including the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Order of Military Medical Merit, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
