Governor Asa Hutchinson Names John Martin Senior Health Policy Advisor
LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson today announced John Martin as his new Senior Health Policy Advisor. Martin’s start date is September 8, 2015.
Governor Hutchinson issued the following statement:
“I’m excited to have John Martin join our team as our new Senior Health Policy Advisor. His expertise on healthcare is well known and his breadth of knowledge and experience on the issue will be of great value to my administration as we work to reform Medicaid and improve access to quality care for Arkansans.”
Martin issued the following statement:
“I’m honored to join the office of Governor Hutchinson, who already has accomplished so much for the people of Arkansas. As a healthcare policy advisor, I’m especially excited about the governor’s vision for an innovative, cost-efficient healthcare system that works for Arkansas. I look forward to being a part of making that vision a reality.”
John Martin is currently the Deputy Legislative Director for Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), where he has served as primary advisor to the Senator on domestic policy including health care, agriculture, and other issues concerning Arkansas for the last two and a half years.
Prior to joining then-Representative Cotton in 2013, John worked for former Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson, managing the statewide grassroots operation for his 2012 U.S. Senate campaign in Wisconsin. John previously worked as a consultant for Deloitte, helping large energy and wholesale-distribution clients make their business operations more efficient and effective.
John holds a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management from Texas A&M University and is a native of Ft. Worth, Texas.
