Governor Hutchinson Announces Brad Cazort as Director of Arkansas Crime Information Center

Governor thanks departing director Jay Winters for his service

LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson announced today Brad Cazort, of Little Rock, as the new director of the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC). The Governor recommended Cazort to the ACIC board earlier this month, and the board voted Friday in favor of the Governor’s recommendation.

“Brad’s career as an attorney, coupled with his tremendous breadth of experience at the Arkansas Crime Information Center, make him the perfect choice for ACIC’s next director,” Governor Hutchinson said. “I am confident that under Brad’s wise and energetic leadership,  the ACIC will continue to thrive as the front-line source of up-to-date data for law-enforcement agencies in Arkansas.”

“I am deeply appreciative of the trust and confidence the Governor and the ACIC Board have placed in me,” Mr. Cazort said. “I look forward to the continued growth of the mission at ACIC to ensure that we always provide the most accurate data in the most efficient manner to those who need it.”

Mr. Cazort, who has worked for the ACIC since 2005, replaces Jay Winters, who recently stepped down as director for health reasons after serving under two governors.

“I want to thank Jay—a man of great integrity and character—for the incredible work he has done at ACIC through the years,” Governor Hutchinson said. “After I was elected governor in 2014, Jay was one of three agency directors that I asked to stay on. His continued stellar service confirms he was the right person for the job, and his service to our state will be missed.

“Health and family are some of the most important things in life, and I’m glad to know that Jay and his family will be able to focus on those critical factors at this time.”
