Readout of the Governor’s Cabinet Meeting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.— Following the Governor’s meeting with her Cabinet, Sanders’ spokeswoman Alexa Henning released the following readout:

“This afternoon, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders held a meeting with her Cabinet secretaries at the Capitol. She began by welcoming Arkansas’ new Secretary of Transformation and Shared Services, Leslie Fisken, and by detailing the Administration’s successes in the recent legislative session. The Governor then discussed her expectations for the upcoming Fiscal Session and asked Cabinet secretaries to continue cutting spending. In recent years, government spending in Arkansas has increased by 3% on average every year, which by 2028 will cost Arkansas taxpayers $7 billion each year. The Governor reiterated that her goal is to streamline government to lower these costs to taxpayers, allowing Arkansas to continue responsibly phasing out its state personal income tax. The Governor ended the meeting by thanking all Cabinet secretaries for their work to streamline their agencies in order to deliver savings to taxpayers.”
