TILLAR, Ark. – Following Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ visit to Cornerstone Christian Academy in Tillar, Ark., Sanders’ spokeswoman Alexa Henning released the following statement:

“Today, as part of Parental Choice Week in Arkansas, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders visited and toured Cornerstone Christian Academy, a private Christian school in Tillar, with Secretary Jacob Oliva, Rep. Jeff Wardlaw, and Rep. Mark McElroy. The Governor thanked the teachers and staff for the opportunity to visit, and emphasized her commitment to empowering parents to make the best decisions for their kids and expanding quality education as part of her Arkansas LEARNS agenda. The delegation also sat down with educators, parents, and community leaders to discuss the importance of improving childhood literacy, preparing kids to take on high paying jobs in the workforce, and giving parents, both in urban and rural areas of our state, a greater role in education – including the right to choose the school that’s best for their child – whether it’s public, private, or parochial.”
