Dear Secretary Thurston, 

When the 2003 Arkansas Legislature amended the fee for filing a last will and testament, they failed to amend the rest of the code.
 
House Bill 1493 is a correction to bring clarity to existing law. While § 21-6-413(a)(4) has continually governed the fee amount since 2003, the language of § 28-25-108(a) has been a source of confusion. This bill fixes that confusion without raising any fees on any Arkansan and therefore I will sign it.
